Pit bull attacks abusive owners
Pit Bull Attacks Abusive OwnersKennewick, WA - Late Wednesday morning, a passerby saw a woman being attacked by a dog. She called the police who subsequently found a man and woman both been bitten by their own pit bull.
The man was bitten on both arms and one leg. The woman was bitten on her leg. When officers attempted to photograph the man's wounds, he refused and took himself to the hospital. The woman was helpful, but was arrested for an unrelated warrant. Animal control officials say a witness mentioned the dog was often being tormented.
"It could be just poking the dog with a stick or poking at a dog," says AC officer Angela Zilar. "It could also be yelling at it, withholding food or withholding water."The woman was taken to Kennewick General Hospital and later transported to the Benton County Jail. The dog was taken by a friend to Hermiston, Oregon.
Zilar added that the pit bull owners did not have a permit for the dog. A reminder, all pit bulls, American Staffordshire Terriers or any mix of those two breeds must have a permit in Kennewick. The cost is $25.00.
