Pit bull attacks terrier, pit bull owner sued $50,000
Pit Bull Ripped Skin, Flesh From Helpless TerrierChicago, IL - In a dog attack that has all the markings of "animal abuse" -- in this instance, one animal abusing the other -- the owner of the victimized dog seeks an excess of $50,000 in damages.
Noel Rosales claims in a two-count negligence lawsuit filed in Cook County Circuit Court against Jose Gomez that her Jack Russell terrier was torn apart after Gomez allowed his pit bull to roam without a leash inside a neighborhood park.
Last September, Noel Rosales was walking her dog, Biscuit, on a sidewalk when the pit bull ran from a nearby park and attacked the terrier. After biting the terrier on the legs and torso, the pit bull locked his jaw onto the dog’s chest and tore off his skin and flesh. Since the attack, Rosales has expended large amounts of money trying to save Biscuit’s life.
