Announcement: Happy 10th Anniversary DogsBite.org!

Dog Bite Victims' Advocacy Group Turns 10-Years Old   DogsBite.org - Today marks the 10th Anniversary of DogsBite.org. We recall quite vividly when we reached the five year mark as well. At that time the founder was in Tucson delivering a speech to the first ever grassroots event for dog attack survivors, Walk for Victims of Pit Bulls and Other Dangerous Dogs. "They say it takes 5 years for a movement to take flight," Colleen Lynn told the audience back then. "That moment o… [Read full blog post]

DogsBite.org Founder Responds to Local Criticism

DogsBite.org - This is our letter to Burnaby Now after a defamation attempt by Kathy Powelson, Executive Director at Paws for Hope Animal Foundation (Burnaby, Canada). We not only fight false allegations -- that Burnaby Now printed with zero evidence -- on a daily basis since our inception in 2007 in the United States, we fight them in Canada too. Lacking market share does not equate to lacking credibility. The highest court in Maryland validated our credibility. Re: Letter… [Read full blog post]

Letter of Gratitude to Founder Colleen Lynn from Parents of Mauling Victim

Dear Colleen Lynn, As the parents of a child who endured a disfiguring near-death mauling by a pit bull terrier, I can't begin to express my gratitude by your founding Dogsbite.org. A lifelong dog enthusiast myself, I have also been concerned when mans best friend is bred to the extremes. That concern was realized in the nightmare our innocent 10-year old son endured -- the carnage an extremely ill bred dog can bring. My interest in both animals, dogs in particular, and my love f… [Read full blog post]

Founder Colleen Lynn Reflects Upon Four Year Anniversary of Her Attack

Attack Date: June 17, 2007 DogsBite.org - It's not easy to write about your own violent dog attack. Who could know this better than I do, the voice of DogsBite.org? Usually, I write in third person, but not today. Four years ago today, an event forever altered my life, including all of the environments, activities and personal and business relationships within it. The event was an unprovoked assault by a leashed pit bull on a public street. At the time, I was just a few blocks away… [Read full blog post]

Activist Questions 'Journalistic Integrity' of Article by Sue Manning of the Associated Press

UPDATE 02/11/11: On February 11, the Associated Press published a new article about the AP-Petside.com poll written by Sue Manning. This article did include the founder of DogsBite.org along with a spokesperson from the HSUS. It is unknown if Thomas Mair's letter played a role in its publication or if parts were revised prior to its release and after receiving his letter. The latest piece still utilizes Maul Talk, but is far more balanced than the first. Journalistic Integr… [Read full blog post]
