  1. The good news is that this only the 33rd Pit Bull DBRF to happen on current Texas Governor Rick Perry's watch.

Meanwhile, dog fighting and pit breeding remain lucrative endeavors..

  2. An apparent Dine and Dash….

Houston Animal Control responded and caught one of the dogs, police said.

HPD spoke to a man identified by witnesses as the dog owner. However, when officers returned to his apartment, the alleged owner had fled and the second dog was missing, presumed to be with the owner.

    PS…President Obama's 107th Pit Bull DBRF victim!

  3. Pit bull owners appear to all be magicians. The moment their dogs genetics kick in they suddenly disappear and now a pet dog is labeled a "stray" or "feral"

  4. "Homicide detectives with the Houston Police Department have been working with the Harris County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether or not to pursue criminal charges." — Eugh! The Harris County District Attorney’s Office NEVER prosecutes under Lillian's Law! It is expected that this case, like many OTHER serious and fatal dog attacks in Harris County where the dogs have attacked off-property, will simply go down the Harris County drainage system.

  5. The woman killed was recently homeless. Because of this, there will likely be no charges or a civil suit. Had a dentist's daughter been killed, we would see much more action on this front.

  6. misdemeanor? wow good job texas. I am sick of these low lifes that don't enforce laws. This is clearly manslaughter. It sickens me that our politicians and police love blood so much that they make killing people with pits legal.

  7. Finally, felony charges!
I admit, after living in TX I am pretty surprised al the attacks didn't send people to prison. They love their prisons there, and use them for everything, real and imagined. SO GLAD these ones will probably get ling sentences. they deserve it.

and the civil suit is great too, maybe it will teach landlords to care about what beasts live in their properties.

Still such a waste, and such a tragedy.after years of homelessness she had finally got a place. damn
