DogsBite.org - In a disturbing attack video that reportedly stems from Russia (see user feedback below), confusion and calamity prevails. It appears that the dog's owners or handlers hold onto the dog's back legs as a means to "ready" the dog. Perhaps hidden from camera view is another dog being held the same way? Might this be how two teams begin the engagement of a dogfight?
The scene depicts the start of "something" that is interrupted by the dog attacking the man and the arrival of police vehicles. The man does not have a break stick to pry open the pit bull's jaws. The woman screams as the dog continues to attack the man. Authorities must have had advance knowledge, for they arrive in seconds. All the while, someone upstairs records the story on video.
A user wrote to DogsBite.org and told us that the video is Russian, and that as she recalled, was shown on Russian television about 10 years ago. She thought that the younger man was perhaps a nonprofessional trainer, who wanted to teach the dog how to bite (dogfight?) but failed to control the situation. In the first part of the video, the woman tells the young man, "Go away."
After the police arrive, the woman screams, "Help, help me, please, faster!" Other men scream, "Shoot him!" The writer described the animal's behavior as "very strange and atypical" for any dog, even an "old Russian" pit bull. And added that she could not understand why the pit bull did not bite the small black dog seen in the video. In the end, the clip still left her with questions.

My take on it - the man at the beginning was probably attacked by the dog, and the couple are probably the owners. The comotion of the first attack led people to start video taping and to call police which arrives shortly. But the dog was so keyed up that when it was released by its owners, it turned and attacked them. How many shots were fired? And then when that didn't work did the truck intentionally try to run over the dog? They should show this video to anyone who adopts a pit bull.

It looks like Mr. Berserky will need more than a few bullets and a running over to slow him down. I'm disappointed the lady who had it by the back legs didn't drag it up to the balcony and give it a good swing from there. "Fly Berserky! Fly!"

I've seen people break up dogs that were fighting like that, pulling them up by the hind legs. Less dangerous than grabbing their heads but as you can see you need to be strong to do it.
To fire up pits they use Toy Poodles or Yorkshire terriers.
