News Release
Beverly Hills, CA - On June 18, 2013 the Law Offices of Kenneth Phillips, based in Beverly Hills, California issued a hard-hitting news release. Mr. Phillips is widely recognized as the nation's leading authority on dog bite law, and the author of Dogbitelaw.com. He assists legislators in drafting dog bite laws, teaches seminars, and writes books and articles about dog bite law. Mr. Phillips has been a frequent guest on national news shows, CNN, NBC, CBS and more.
The news release rips into "pit bull lovers who have neglected the problem for too long," which is now 30-years and counting, and unequivocally states: "Worse, they have alienated the general public by failing to denounce the 'nutters' who spread misinformation about the members of this breed, which generally are not 'nanny dogs,' service dogs, or rescue dogs." These fabrications and myths perpetuated by "nutters" and humane organizations are quite literally killing children.
It’s Time for the Pit Bull “Recall” Too
Chrysler’s Jeep recall reminds that the pit bull problem also can be fixedBeverly Hills, CA June 18, 2013 -- The recall of the Jeep is a reminder that effective laws can and should be enacted to lessen or eliminate another source of preventable deaths and injuries: the modern pit bull.On June 18, 2013, Chrysler agreed to recall 2.7 million Jeeps because in 14 years there have been at least 37 Jeep accidents that caused at least 51 deaths. (Chris Isidore, Chrysler relents, agrees to recall 2.7 million Jeeps, clickorlando.com, June 18, 2013.) Compare those numbers with deaths caused by pit bulls: in 7 years (half the number of years), pit bulls have killed 151 Americans (three times as many as those killed in Jeeps).
