"They Was Swinging Wild"
Kahului, HA - A fight involving more than 20 people broke out at the end of a purebred pit bull dog show at the War Memorial soccer field. Witnesses said that at least one woman suffered injuries that needed treatment by paramedics. Groups from all over the state gathered at the field to participate in the Pure Breed Kennels’ Bullies in Paradise dog show.
Pit bull owners berserking on each other -- priceless.
Darryl, who didn’t want to give his last name, said the fight began with two individuals and escalated into a large melee, with people throwing punches and not watching out for the women and children at the event. "They was swinging wild," he said. At one point the fight ended up under his tent, with one man grabbing a hammer that was used to set up the tent.

Another witness, Amy, who also didn’t want to give her last name, said the fight went all over the field, with some people even running away to their cars. At least nine police cars and an ambulance responded to the fight, which caused a temporary traffic backup along the side entrance to the event. The dog show included berserking pit bulls and Hawaii’s Strongest Dog contest.
