YouTube Artist KingHuman Explains How to Stop a Pit Bull Attack
Hind Leg Lift Method
YouTube - In a May 2009 video, YouTube artist KingHuman addresses the dangers of pit bulls. He also talks about punk pit bull owners: "Especially you punks that think -- you're so insecure with your own manhood -- you think you have to have a pit bull to show what a stud you are." He also describes how to stop an attack. He references a method seen in an older Russian video, where a woman and man hold up a pit bull's hind legs. After they release the legs, the pit bull attacks them both.
DogsBite.org cannot fully endorse the "Hind Leg Lift" method,1 as we have little documentation of its effectiveness. A separate Russian video shows that holding up the dog's hind legs does not stop the pit bull from ceasing its assault on another dog. It appears by the end of this video that a man uses a knife to "saw" into the pit bull's neck to get the dog to release its grip. The Baltimore street fighting video also depicts this technique. Again, it seems to do little to get the pit bull to let go.
We applaud KingHuman for taking on the pit bull issue. As demonstrated by our many blog posts, stopping a pit bull attack is not a simple feat. People resort to all kinds of tools, including using a handgun, shotgun, catch pole, knife, machete, sword, axe, screw driver, baseball bat, broom, shovel, rake, pitchfork, barbecue fork, pole, metal pipe, tire chain, hammer, crow bar, boiling water, umbrella, hockey stick, tree limb, wooden board, satellite dish, rock, flashlight, nail-gun and a weed whacker.

I love the support from KingHuman and he really makes his point crystal clear, very bold move on his part. The leg lift method is also strongly endorsed by Semyonova in her book. She goes on to warn that once you have the dogs legs high enough to break the hold you MUST continue to hold those legs up until the dog’s owner has it securely leashed… or the police arrive with guns.

I've seen it done and it worked. It was a normal dog though, German Shepperd.

This would work best if you can follow the back leg grab with an olympic quality hammer throw. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jpbgg2TRCuw

It's best to do this BEFORE the pit bull attaches itself.
