  1. When will people learn especially parents pits aren’t and never going to be good family pets.it break my heart into a million pieces when I hear a baby is the victim of a fatal pitbull attack.the father want justice for his little girl well he got justice because they put down the monster. Whoever own that pitbull I hope her death hunt him or her everyday.thier breed of dog ended a little girl life.

  2. Wait Im curious if the pitbull busted through the cage. Did it ran back and forth until he break the lock or did he bite and ripped the wire with his teeth boy pits have a strong head and bones if he ran back and forth.

  3. There is not a single dog crate sold in a pet store that is strong enough to hold a pitbull. There are ones sold on line which are designed to hold powerful dogs, but they are expensive. Most pitbull owners are not rich and cannot afford to purchase these crates. I think all of them are over $500. When I was working on emergency, I had a vicious pitbull in a fiberglass cage. When the owner came to get her, he brought no money. I told the staff to give him his dog because I thought the risk of that dog attacking staff, clients’ pets and clients was too great.

Tonight I answered an individual on Facebook. He has a genetically deaf, vicious male pitbull. He brought home a female pitbull which he “adopted”, and she came into heat.
His male bred her, and his male is threatening his child by growling at her. The dog’s also hiking his leg throughout the house so the owner has a pitbull in charge of the house. He wanted to know how to fix the aggression.

    • There’s one way to fix the aggression, but it’s the sort that makes a lot of noise. And it’s rather permanent.

    • There are dogs that can be fixed to some extent. It still takes extensive household management and vigilance and nobody with small children who is not a professional dog trainer by trade is equipped to deal with it.

Pitbulls are NOT one of the dogs that can be fixed because the aggression is not caused by poor handling practises (spoiling, dominance, fear or confusion)–it’s innate.

That specific pitbull has marked its territory and that child is the intruder. Sooner or later, that pitbull *will* kill her.

Deaf or not, he needs to put that pitbull, down. It can’t be re-homed without it repeating the same patterns. It’s a walking homicide, waiting to happen.

Since you likely won’t get through to them at that level I’d suggest this:

Ask him “how much are you enjoying life with that dog in your house?” followed by, “If you had a houseguest who threatened your child, would you let them continue to live with you?”

When I see a sheety acting dog on the street I’ve been known to ask, “Is that fun for you?” because I want to trigger them to think about that question. They can SEE I’m enjoying my dog.

They may not respond right away…but you want to get those wheels turning before that child is a victim.

  4. the general public doesn’t understand genetic loading and the lack of taboo regarding inbreeding has created a monster , plus all terriers are jerks why would pits be different ………..

  5. there is a reason the European kennel clubs disallow inbreeding, the fact UKC does allow even encourages it is problematic ,,,,,,,,,,and the XL Bully is proof its has lethal blowback

  6. Wichita Falls has its own nonprofit for fanatics devoted to killer dogs, with sickening indifference to the horror, trauma and grief their advocacy results in.

    https://www.texaspitcrew.org/who-we-are

“While we will help any animal in need that we can, we seek to promote the bully breed as the loving and loyal animals they are.”

  7. I don’t know what not allowing inbreeding means. Embark does COIs (coefficient of inbreeding) on samples submitted for DNA analysis. My GSD, Nodder, has a COI of 28%; but he has none of the same dogs in five generations.

Essentially, if one selects dogs for breeding with the traits one wants and those traits are viciousness, hard biting, and lots of muscle, one could get those traits without inbreeding. If one bred an insanely aggressive Presa canario to an insanely aggressive pitbull, the breeding would be an outcross; but it would most likely produce insanely aggressive dogs.

There is inbreeding in wildlife all the time. Wild rabbits inbreed, but that doesn’t produce killer rabbits. Likewise, if
one inbred sweet Golden retrievers, one would not get pitbulls in that breeding. Inbreeding sets temperament and type. It is used to develop new breeds.

As far as the XLbullies are concerned, people
selectively bred pitbulls to larger Molosser type breeds and selected puppies meeting their standards. English bulldogs were bred to small pitbulls to get micro bullies and Toady bullies.

    • Rachel, I have to agree. Pitbulls are the most outcrossed dogs around, for the most part. They’re infecting the gene pools of perfectly gentle mutts, labradors, bulldogs, Frenchies, etc etc.

This isn’t about inbreeding, although some of these “kennels” are overly inbreeding. It’s about *the actual breed* and crosses therein.

  8. Dear Lord, another child. Let’s hope the New Year brings some common sense, or at least the desire to live for owners or potential owners of these monsters.

  9. Another child murdered by a pit to end the year. Terrible. Adding up 2024, is this an all time record? It seems to be and an by a large margin. I fear as the pit genes just keep getting spread around more and more, this is going to be the new norm until the people rise up to put a stop to this nonsense.

  10. Two dead toddlers in two days.

If they were run over by a bus drivers, people would be screaming to hang bus drivers as a danger to society.

At this point, I dunno what it’s going to take.
