Pit bull attacks chihuahua
Pit Bull Attacks Chihuahua:Murry County, TN -Donna McWhorter wants justice for her pet chihuahua, Sox, after he was attacked by her neighbor's pit bull. The chihuahua didn't have a chance against that dog. A local vet found Sox unconscious with a broken spine and other internal injuries. Sox was quickly euthanized.
McWhorter had repeatedly called Murray County Animal Control because her neighbor's pit bull was allowed to run loose through her trailer park. Each time animal control arrived, however, the dog's owner, Jake Mitchell, was told to keep his dog inside his trailer.
McWhorter said the attack left her "heartbroken, I cried forever it seemed like until I couldn't cry no more."McWhorter was in her front yard with her dog Sox and a maltese Wednesday night, when she said the neighbor's pit bull Tia came charging.
"That dog shot out of the trailer and came straight here," McWhorter explained.McWhorter said that after the attack Mitchell took his dog inside his trailer. When animal control arrived they could not take the dog because it was confined. Murray County Animal Control officer Faye Moon confirms they have been called several times about the pit bull but could not do anything because each time they got there the dog was inside Mitchell's trailer.
The fatal attack case will go before a magistrate judge. McWhorter wants justice for her dog Sox. She wants Tia, the pit bull, euthanized and she wants Jake Mitchell to pay her $368 vet bill. The Judge could impose a fine up to $1,000.
