One is Domesticated
Slidell, LA - An alligator has bitten off an 11-year-old boy's arm in Louisiana. They say he was playing in a body of water 20 miles from New Orleans when the attack happened. The alligator was described as 10 to 12 feet long. Devin Funck was airlifted to Ochsner Hospital in Jefferson Parish. It is reported that the boy is "fighting for his life."
On July 26th, a family pit bull in Michigan attacked a 10-year old boy and tore off part of his right arm. The boy's arm was amputated from the elbow down. The young boy is still being hospitalized. On July 2nd, 90-year old Henry Piotrowski was attacked by two pit bulls in his back yard. Witnesses describe the dogs as "eating him alive." Henry suffered the amputation of one arm and media reports say that he underwent two more amputations as well.
Around June 16th, the owner of a pit bull (who had owned the dog since it was a puppy) was attacked by her dog and suffered the loss of both arms. Annette Williams endured a brutal sustained attack by her pet pit bull. It was reported that the dog had never shown aggression before. It seems the only difference between an alligator and a pit bull is that one is considered wild and the other a pet. As one pit bull attack victim describes:
It was like "shoosh,” like a crocodile coming out of the water. He [the pit bull] wasn't there and then, all of a sudden, he was there. Like a wild animal.
