6 Charged for Allowing Pit Bull to Rip Up Caged Hog

Suspects Enjoyed Attack
Tyler, TX - An investigation into an illegal deer-hunting operation prompted authorities to file felony charges against six people after a confiscated videotape shows multiple pit bull dogs violently attacking a feral hog in a small enclosure. Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor said the six people on the tape were "very much enjoying" the attack on the caged hog. He said it was not a fun tape to watch. "At one point one of the dogs ripped an ear off the hog. This is a classic animal cruelty case," he said.
Pit bulls consistently rip off human ears as well. They tear off human scalps and eat through arms and legs too.
Taylor said the six people on the tape were identified and the seven pit bull dogs were seized. He said it was not clear if any of the dogs had been used in dogfighting, but he added that the vicious attack on the feral hog was a tactic used to teach dogs to fight. His office has filed charges against the six people for state jail-felony cruelty to an animal. "This may have been a wild animal," he said referring to the hog, "but it is against the law to cage one animal up and let others tear it to pieces at will.”

Hog dogging is essentially the initial purpose for this breed...Bull Baiting.

I'm glad they got caught and were charged! Most of us who hunt view the practice of setting pit bulls on hogs as barbaric BS, not 'hunting.'

A true hunter has respect and compassion in the taking of game. The vast majority of us have spent thousands of dollars and years of our lives to acquire the equipment and skills required to engage in fair chase and ethical harvest. Nothing about allowing pit bulls to maul and torture another animal is part of this.

Lock every hog-dogger up! They all do this kind of crap and worse. Their pits kill unintended game and livestock, and people and pets in their own neighborhoods. They're not hunters, they're hillbilly a-holes that give real hunters a bad name. Real hunters brought you the labs, golden retrievers, beagles, pointers and setters – not pit bulls. Those ugly creations came from the low life imbeciles of their time, but continue to be owned by that ilk today. Jail is too good for them!

It is my understanding that one of the prominent bloggers who promotes pit bulls is connected to this hog dog fighting type activity and breeding dogs for it.

This must be the lowest of the low. Sending dogs to kill caged animals.

What kind of man who calls himself a man would do such a thing? Even children are not stupid enough to be titillated by such a low thing.

Instead of baiting an area climbing a tree and administering an ethical clean and quick kill, these good ol boys stay at the truck, while their unsupervised pack of maulers does all the work.

Then when they hear the howling and squealing in the distance, they put the beers down and say: "Spider ths is web, we got us a couple of flies...Yee Haw!"

IT IS WORSE THAN YOU CAN POSSIBLY IMAGINE. THESE SICKOS DON'T JUST SET THEIR DOGS ON CAGED ANIMALS. THEY SIC DOGS DRESSED IN PROTECTIVE GARB ON CAGED ANIMALS. THE CAGED ANIMALS HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO WAY TO DEFEND THEMSELVES AGAINST THESE DOGS.

I DISAGREE. THE MEN WHO ENGAGE IN THIS SICK BEHAVIOR DID NOT WAKE UP ONE DAY AND DECIDE TO CAGE A HOG AND SIC HIS ARMORED DOGS ON IT. MOST LIKELY THESE MEN PERFORMED DISTURBING ACTS UPON HELPLESS ANIMALS AS CHILDREN, AS WHAT WHAT THEY REALLY WERE, SADISTIC PSYCHOPATHS IN EMBRYO.
