Treat Pit Bulls as the Menace to Society that They Are
Citizen Kurt Kelly is sick and tired of people refusing to acknowledge the rhinoceros in the room. He writes to the Sun-Sentinel newspaper:
"The other day in Delray Beach, a dog and its owner were savagely attacked by a wandering pit bull outside of Starbucks. Is anyone surprised? It seems like every other month or so, the news reports another child getting his face ripped off by the family pit bull, or a neighbor's pet being killed by the pit bull next door."
He goes on to add a very good point about pit bull ownership and gun ownership:
"However, if these bad boys [pit bull owners] walked down the street flashing their guns, they'd be arrested. Why then are they allowed to walk around in public with these dangerous animals? An unleashed aggressive pit bull at close range is as dangerous as any gun. It is time to treat these animals as the danger to society that they are."
