Pit Bull attacks reported in Manteca
Pit Bull Attacks Reported in MantecaManteca, CA - Twice in two days and three times in the last month, pit bulls in Manteca have gone on the attack. Monday morning a man was working in his yard when he was bit by a neighbor's dog through a hole in the fence. Sunday, a 2- year-old girl was bitten and dragged around the yard.
"When I saw it was my granddaughter, I went after him. He wouldn't let go. I almost choked him to death. It was the only way to get him to let go," said Mervyn Dameral.Two-year-old Natalie was lucky to only received 15 stitches in her leg. Unfortunately, a greyhound last month was not. In January, two greyhound dogs were attacked by pit bulls. The greyhounds' owner was walking the dogs when a pit bull raced across the street and attacked. Due to injuries, one of the greyhounds was euthanized.

Where I live, the shelters would simply call the dog pictured a "boxer mix" to get around labeling it as a pit bull.
