Man Accused Of Breaking Puppy's Legs, Jaw
Los Angeles, CA - 22-year-old Steven Butcher, despondent over a break-up with his girlfriend was arrested on charges of animal cruelty Monday. He is accused of breaking a pit bull puppy's rear legs, breaking its jaw and inflicting numerous other injuries.

A resident who called police told officers that Butcher "was despondent over a break-up with his girlfriend and had threatened to harm a small puppy." Police said the resident had an audiotape of the suspect claiming he was hurting the dog as it was heard "yelping in pain."

Officers found the dog lying under a running faucet, drenched in cold water. DogsBite.org wonders, "Who are these people?" And why do so many abusive people choose to abuse pit bulls? Pit bulls are by far the breed most abused by mankind and the breed that most abuses other dogs and human beings. The abuser in this case, Butcher, was released after posting $20,000 bail.
