Dahlonega, GA - An American pit bull terrier was euthanized last week after it attacked an 11-year-old girl who was visiting the dog owner's home. Lauren Pethel was playing with a litter of puppies in the yard when the barking dog managed to escape from a nearby front door.
Lauren received numerous severe bite wounds to her back and legs before the dog owner's daughter was able to restrain the dog. She was rushed to the hospital and treated. The dog owner agreed to surrender her pet to Lumpkin County Animal Control and was euthanized.
