Dog who attacked young Waco boy may be euthanized
Pit Bull that Attacked Waco Boy May Be EuthanizedWaco, TX - A judge will decide if a pit bull that attacked a boy on his way to school last year will be euthanized. The pit bull was picked up Friday by an animal control officer with the Waco Police Department. The dog's owner Ancelmo Banda was also arrested for "attack by dog"; the first case in Waco to fall under a new law called "Lillian's Law" or House Bill 1355.
Lillian's Law holds dog owners responsible when their unprovoked animal attacks someone injuring or killing them. The dog is now in quarantine. The charge is a third degree felony and if convicted Banda could face up to 10 years in prison.
