Police shoot pit bull after attack on child
Police Shoot Pit Bull After Attack on ChildFontana, CA - Police shot and killed a pit bull after it mauled an 8-year-old boy. Attempts to repel the dog with a bean bag round and a Tazer did not work. So when the 60-pound black pit bull charged the Fontana police officers, they opened fire.
After the dog attacked the boy, ripping his skin from his face, the dog ran back to its owners' house. By the time San Bernardino County animal control officers arrived, one of the owners has tossed the dog into the backyard of a vacant house, attempting to hide the animal from animal control. They issued a citation to the owners and seized the dead animal.
